Privacy Policy

Your privacy is the design principle of this site, not an afterthought. EditVideo processes your videos inside your own browser using WebAssembly, WebCodecs and WebGPU. The editing tools do not upload your files anywhere, because there is no upload server to receive them. We cannot see, store or share footage that never reaches us.

How each part of the site handles data

The editing and conversion tools are fully local. Your video, your edits and your exported results never leave your computer. The engine files themselves (WebAssembly binaries and AI models) are downloaded to your browser once and cached locally so later visits start faster. They contain no personal information.

The cloud transcription tier is the one exception, and it is labeled as such inside the tool. When you choose it, your audio is streamed through our Cloudflare Worker, processed by Cloudflare's AI service, and discarded immediately. It is never stored, never logged and never used for anything beyond returning your transcript. Request quotas protect the service from automated abuse.

Bot protection runs only on that transcription endpoint. We use Cloudflare Turnstile, which may process limited technical data such as your IP address and browser signals to distinguish humans from bots. Details live in Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand overall usage: how many people visit, which tools get opened, which pages are read. The measurement is limited to aggregate page view statistics, filtered to this domain, and is not used to identify individuals. Analytics runs with its standard cookies. You can block them with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by disabling cookies in your browser. Every tool keeps working either way; nothing on the site depends on analytics.

We do not run advertising trackers, ad SDKs, fingerprinting scripts or third party marketing pixels. If advertising is ever introduced, this policy will be updated and the disclosure published here before any ad code ships.

Hosting

The site is served through Cloudflare. Like every web host, Cloudflare processes request level data at its edge, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the infrastructure. That data is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. All connections use HTTPS; nothing travels in plaintext.

Local storage and caches

Your browser keeps a few things so the site works better. The AI models and engine files are cached after the first download, typically in the browser's cache storage. Your most recent files are held in memory only while a tool page is open. Closing the tab discards them. Clearing your browser data removes every cached model, and the site simply downloads them again on your next visit.

What we do not collect

No accounts, no forms, no email collection, no uploads. The editing tools never transmit your files to us or to any third party. Your results are downloaded straight from your browser. There is no customer profile to delete because there is no profile to begin with.

How you can verify this yourself

Every claim in this policy is checkable. Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use any tool while watching the requests. You will see the engine files load once, and nothing else leave your machine. The site is fully static, so there is nothing behind it to hide.

Your rights

Because the tools collect nothing, access and deletion are trivially satisfied: you already hold everything, and clearing your browser data removes the caches. For the cloud transcription tier, audio is discarded immediately after processing, so there is no stored copy to request. Data retention

Local tools retain nothing because nothing is sent. The cloud transcription tier retains nothing by design: audio streams in, the transcript streams out. Analytics data follows Google's standard retention settings and is used only in aggregate form.

Children

The site is a general purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

When the site changes, this policy changes with it, and the update is published here before the change goes live. If a future feature changes how data is handled, that feature will be disclosed on its own page and here.

Frequently asked questions

Does EditVideo sell my data? No. There is no data to sell. The editing tools never receive your files, and the analytics are aggregate page statistics.

Do the tools work without cookies? Yes. Blocking cookies or analytics changes nothing about the tools. The models and engines are cached like any web asset, and the editing happens locally either way.

What happens to a file after I close the tab? It is gone from the tool's memory. The browser may keep the cached engine files so the next visit loads faster, but your video itself is never written to any disk we control.

Is the cloud transcription optional? Yes, and it is a separate step inside the subtitle tool. The default path for every tool is fully local processing.

Who can see what I edit? Nobody. Not us, not a server, not a third party. The only way anyone sees your video is if you show it to them.

Security practices

The site is static: no database, no user store, no upload endpoint for the editing tools. There is no credential database to leak because there are no accounts. The single dynamic endpoint (cloud transcription) authenticates every request through bot protection and discards its input immediately after processing. All connections are HTTPS, and the infrastructure is monitored for abuse rather than for your content.

Advertising

EditVideo currently shows no advertising of any kind, and no advertising cookies are set by this site.

If advertising is introduced in the future, such as Google AdSense, third-party ad vendors would set cookies based on your prior visits to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or at www.aboutads.info. This policy will be updated before any ad code ships.
