Terms

Terms of Service

By using editvideo.tools you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose, written to be read rather than to impress lawyers.

These terms apply to every tool, guide and page on editvideo.tools, in all fourteen languages. Translations exist for readability; the English version is the reference text if meanings ever diverge.

Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship between you and EditVideo. The site is a tool, you are the user, and that is the entire relationship.

The service

EditVideo is a free, browser based video toolbox. All tools are provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Processing happens on your device, so results depend on your browser, your hardware and your files. We do not guarantee that any tool will work on every machine, or that output will look the way you expect on every player.

How processing works

The editing tools run locally in your browser. Nothing you process is uploaded to us, and no copy of your files is created on our side at any point. You are responsible for keeping your own copies, which is straightforward here: the original never leaves your device.

Some tools have documented limits, shown on each page: maximum file size, maximum duration, supported formats. Inputs outside those limits may be rejected or processed incorrectly. Check the page you are using before relying on the result.

Your content

You keep full ownership of everything you process. Because the editing tools never upload your files, no license or transfer is involved, and nothing you process becomes accessible to us or to third parties. You are responsible for having the rights to use the files you edit, and for everything you do with the output.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to process illegal content, to violate anyone's rights, or to interfere with the service. The cloud transcription tier has quotas to keep it fair for everyone; automating requests to bypass those quotas is not allowed. If misuse threatens the service, we may rate limit or block requests, including by IP range, without notice.

Cloud transcription tier

The optional cloud transcription feature sends audio to Cloudflare's AI service for processing. It is offered as a convenience, with no availability guarantee and no warranty on accuracy. By using it, you agree that the audio may be processed by Cloudflare in accordance with their terms, and that it is discarded after processing. The feature is clearly labeled inside the tool so the choice is always explicit.

Availability

The site may add, change, rename or remove tools without notice. It may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, outages or reasons outside our control. We are not obligated to keep any tool, page or feature online, and we make no promise about future features or timelines.

We keep the site free by keeping it simple. There are no subscriptions, no premium tiers and no hidden fees. If a feature would require paid infrastructure, we will tell you before it ships, and the free tools stay free.

Intellectual property

The site's design, text and code belong to EditVideo. The open source engines and models used under the hood belong to their respective authors and are used under their licenses. Your media belongs to you, always.

No warranties

Everything is offered on an as is and as available basis. We specifically disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement, to the extent the law allows. Some browsers are faster than others, and some files decode differently; those differences are part of using a local tool.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EditVideo is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the tools, including lost data, lost output, or decisions made based on results. If a particular clip matters to you, keep a copy of the original before processing. That is good practice anywhere, and it costs nothing here.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the current terms. Material changes will be noted on this page.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@editvideo.tools.

Feedback

Bug reports and feature requests are welcome at hello@editvideo.tools. Submitting feedback does not transfer any rights to us, and we do not claim ownership of ideas you share. If we build something you suggested, the thanks appears in the changelog, not in a contract.

Open source components

The site bundles open source engines and models under their respective licenses, including MIT and BSD licensed software. Those components remain under their own terms, and nothing in these terms changes that. The site itself, including its design and text, is ours.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws that apply to where you live, to the extent applicable law allows. Where local consumer law grants you rights, nothing here removes them. If a dispute arises, we will try to resolve it directly by email before anything else.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and EditVideo for the use of this site. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

File limits

Each tool documents its own limits on its page: typical caps are 200 MB per file and 30 seconds per video, with format restrictions listed where they apply. Files beyond those limits may be rejected or may process slowly. Limits exist because browser based tools trade convenience for memory; they are not a preview of a paid tier, because there is no paid tier.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, write to hello@editvideo.tools first. Most issues are bugs with a known workaround, and a clear report with your browser, operating system and file details gets an answer quickly. If a legal dispute cannot be resolved by talking, it follows the governing law section above.
