Why does slow motion look choppy?
Because simple slowdown duplicates frames — 30fps slowed 2x plays 15 unique frames per second, which the eye reads as stutter. Phone cameras avoid this by recording at 60-120fps. Our speed tool slows honestly by duplication; if you want butter-smooth slow motion, shoot at high frame rate (60fps+) and apply a moderate slowdown.
What speed should I use for a time-lapse?
Depends on the subject: clouds and crowds look great at 4-8x, sunsets at 10-20x, traffic at night 20-50x. Our tool speeds up by dropping frames evenly — the motion stays smooth. Try 8x first, then adjust.
