Up to 400% (4×). The presets are 100%, 200% and 400% — 400% is best reserved for very quiet recordings, as it can amplify background noise too.
How loud should my video be?
Platforms normalize around -14 LUFS (YouTube's loudness target). If your video feels quiet, raise it +50% to +100% — don't jump straight to the maximum; extreme boosts distort the audio.
Can I make my video louder without distortion?
Moderate boosts (up to ~150%) stay clean in practice. The 400% ceiling exists to rescue extremely quiet recordings — for everyday footage, staying within 150-200% keeps the audio natural.
Why is my video so quiet, and can I boost it without distortion?
Usually it was recorded or exported too quietly — the audio never reached healthy levels. You can safely boost: normalize to around -14 LUFS (the streaming standard) rather than cranking gain blindly; past that, background hiss gets loud too.
